Protected Disclosure Report 2023 

Report of The Shannon Airport Group for 2023 in accordance with Section 22 of the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 as amended by the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022 (the “Act”).

This report covers the period 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023.

The Shannon Airport Group has established internal reporting channels and procedures in accordance with the Act for the making of protected disclosures in line with the Act. There were no Protected Disclosures made to The Shannon Airport Group for 2023 in 2023.

 

Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty

The Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty (the Duty) requires that public bodies have regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, promote equality and protect human rights when performing their functions. This Duty is set out in section 42 of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014.The Duty provides that The Shannon Airport Group (SNNGroup) will, in the performance of its functions, have regard to the need to:

SNNGroup strives to proactively prevent and eliminate discrimination and inequality in the workplace, promote equality of opportunity, and protect the human rights and treatment of its employees, customers, service providers and anyone affected by its policies and procedures. SNNGroup is committed to embedding human rights and equality considerations across its organisational functions by respecting and upholding human rights and this commitment is supported by a range of policies covering focus areas within human rights.

SNNGroup has developed a wide range of policies covering human rights, including employee rights, to ensures that no employee, member of the public or other stakeholder suffers discrimination in their interactions with SNNGroup. We will continue to ensure that we meet our Duty, in the development of our policies and in the promotion and support of the equality and human rights of our people. We will continue to build on the solid work we have already undertaken and enhance and promote the positive and inclusive nature of our workplace and address any human rights and equality issues we identify relevant to SNNGroup as a public body.
