Each year, our staff at the Shannon Airport Group nominates and votes for two charities close to their hearts, and work hard to raise much needed funds on their behalf - over the course of that year. Our Charity Committee is made up of staff across our various commercial property, Airport and professional services departments to organise and manage fundraising events.
This is truly a team effort, passionately driven by our staff from right across the group. We are proud of the wonderful work that goes into organising so many fun events to raise funds for our chosen charities.
To date, we are proud to say that our people have raised over €420,000 for our charity partners. In years gone by, chosen charities have included Irish Cancer Society, Limerick Suicide Watch, Share a Dream and Clare Crusaders and we are committed to continue building on this.
Our Charity Committee have pledged to go above and beyond for their two chosen charities for 2025. Clare Crusaders and Little Blue Heroes will become the beneficiaries of much needed funds raised by the Group over the next 12 months.
“Across the next 12 months we will execute lots of exciting plans for everyone to get involved and show their support, from our partners across the Shannon Campus, the community here in Shannon, passengers and general public.”
Each year staff from across the organisation submit charities to be chosen for our annual fundraising initiatives. This year, Clare Crusaders and Little Blue Heroes received the most votes from staff. Like with all our charities, we are honoured to dedicate our fundraising efforts to these two vital Irish charities over the next year.
Thomas Downey, local representative for Little Blue Heroes said, “Working together with The Shannon Airport Group will allow our little heroes’ dreams and ambitions take off. They will fly high on their journey to fulfil their destiny..”
Ann Norton from Clare Crusaders Children’s Clinic said: "Partnering with The Shannon Airport Group means so much to us. It’s a partnership rooted in community, compassion and a shared commitment to supporting local families. With their backing, we can continue providing free, life-changing therapies to children who need them most."
Last year, our Charity Committee proudly handed over €35,000 each to Sláinte an Chláir (Clare Cancer Support) and Children’s Health Foundation.
