Since 2020 we established a company Green Team for our employees. This team is comprised of employees from a range of departments and levels across the company. The objective of the team is to be an open forum for employees to bring forward their ideas, to develop awareness events with and outside the company and to work on sustainability projects to embed Sustainability in our DNA.
Engaging with our people on key sustainability topics is an opportunity to inspire positive change and to encourage people to take action in their personal lives. We regularly engage through webinars, guest speaker events, competitions and behaviour change campaigns on energy use, waste, and biodiversity.
In 2023 we ran a climate action event with our staff and the wider airport community to raise awareness of the need for climate action. This event enabled staff book individual time slots with a professional home energy consultant, learn more about waste management from national experts, get their bikes or clothing repaired for free, and eat a plant based lunch.FIND OUT MORE
The health and wellbeing of our employees remains a top priority for us. We recognise the importance of putting in place the right supports to ensure that we do as much as possible to foster a happy and healthy organisation. We have established an employee assistance programme which aids staff and their families in times of crisis or emotional distress, and also provides tools and resources to help staff thrive at home and in work.
