Corporate Communications Specialist
Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Head of Communications.
This is an exciting opportunity in which the ideal candidate will cover the day-to-day activity of a busy, dynamic communications department. The primary function of the role requires a variety of communications skills (verbal, written, multimedia, etc.) to support The Shannon Airport Group’s corporate communications objectives.
This position will help communications efforts, developing and executing integrated strategies that engage media and excite audiences about The Shannon Airport Group, Shannon International Airport and the Group’s commercial property activities.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing and overseeing high-impact communications/PR campaigns and strategies, and monitoring their success.
- Reaching out to influencers, media and beyond to raise awareness and understanding of The Shannon Airport Group.
- Drafting press releases, media statements, answering media inquiries, compiling publications, planning events and press conferences in a timely manner.
- Overseeing the creation of communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organisation's brand, including press releases, speech material, and more.
- Creating content for social media including video.
- Assisting the Head of Communications in stakeholder engagement.
- Providing media advice and internal communications support to colleagues.
- Representing the organisation at events and press conferences.
- Participating in crisis communication preparedness activities.
- Maintaining and managing shared appointments and calendar of events for the department.
- Such other duties as may be reasonably required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The candidate should have
- A recognised third level degree/or relevant qualification in PR/communications/
media or a related field with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience.
- PR agency or in-house PR experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent writing, editing, communication, storytelling, and project management skills.
- The ability to work flexibly, meet deadlines and to take on ad hoc assignments to meet the evolving needs of the business is important.
- Excellent organisational skills, capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
- Experience in designing and executing communications plans and strategies to deliver business objectives.
- Comfortable dealing with the media (making media pitches and answering media inquiries in a timely fashion) and having a solid understanding of print, online, television, and radio media outlets.
- Strong social and digital media, PowerPoint and visual design skills.
- Must be able to think analytically and strategically. Ability to independently gather analyse, interpret and summarise data and to deliver insights.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, including the Marketing team, to ensure alignment of messaging.
- Experience in event management would be an advantage.

Airport Engineering Projects Manager
Role Purpose
We are a commercial state company and provide air transport and aviation services at Shannon Airport and its environs while also supporting the growing aviation cluster in the region. In addition, The Shannon Airport Group owns and manages a large commercial property portfolio of office blocks and a range of industrial, advanced manufacturing and aviation facilities in the region.
This role, based at Shannon Airport, will report to the Airport Director and will work closely with the facilities and capital project teams.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Plan and manage Opex and selected Capex projects aimed at enhancing airport infrastructure, operational efficiency and passenger experience
- Coordinate project scope, budgeting, scheduling and risk management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
- Establish and maintain a centralised digital data room to store and manage key engineering documentation such as drawings, surveys, reports and project records.
- Implement systems and processes for efficient data retrieval and ensure compliance with data security
- Adhering to public procurement guidelines, ensuring compliance and competitive procedures are followed.
- Ensure that all responsibilities within the scope of the role are carried out in compliance with aviation and safety regulations (e.g. EASA, IAA, ICAO)
- Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory audits and inspections
- Develop and manage engineering project budgets working closely with finance colleagues for accurate financial planning and reporting
- Cross functional collaboration is a key part of the role, for example working with IT, Finance and Operations colleagues on projects
- Lead a team of engineering technicians to deliver project success
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A recognized qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or a related field to bachelor’s degree level.
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a team leadership or managerial role.
- Knowledge of aviation and airport environment would be an advantage
- Must have experience of project management
- Skilled user of engineering software, project management tools (AutoCAD etc), MS Office and BIM System
- Excellent leadership and communication and organizational skills
- Possess a high level of drive and energy and the ability to make things happen.

ESG Reporting Specialist
Role Purpose
The Shannon Airport Group is a commercial state company and provides air transport and aviation services at Shannon Airport and harnesses its property and land assets to deliver sustainable commercial property solutions across its business parks.
The role, based in Shannon Airport, will report to the Head of Sustainability, but will also work closely with the Group Finance team. The role will oversee the implementation of and ensure compliance with the reporting requirements of the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the EU Taxonomy and other reporting requirements as they arise.
The company has completed a double materiality assessment and gap analysis and, with the support of external advisors, has commenced preparation for CSRD Reporting.
We are now looking for someone to take this to the next level and help us become self-sufficient in meeting our reporting obligations.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Develop and implement roadmap for the annual CSRD and EU Taxonomy reporting process, ensure deadlines/milestones are met and requirements satisfied.
- Lead the implementation of compliant CSRD reporting.
- Coordinate the double materiality assessment (DMA) process, and refresh at required intervals to assess material ESG topics.
- Define reporting requirements to drive data gathering processes, based on knowledge of legislation and output of DMA.
- Work with cross functional teams to update policies, and establish metrics, targets and action plans.
- Collect, validate and consolidate all narrative, semi-narrative and numerical data and integrate into the structure required to produce the sustainability reports to be included in the annual financial statements.
- Development of an audit-ready control framework and governance structure for CSRD reporting.
- Sustainability reports production for inclusion in the annual financial statements.
- Management of the assurance process (including digital tagging).
- Provide guidance to data providers by supporting them during data submission, audits and audit remediation activities.
- Manage the implementation of any data management or reporting tools.
- Manage and track progress against report readiness and provide status reports to senior management.
- Monitor ESG reporting developments and regulatory changes and serving as a subject-matter expert.
- Educate and train internal stakeholders to build organisational capacity and awareness on CSRD and EU Taxonomy reporting requirements.
- You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Recognised third level degree/qualification in Accountancy, Science, Engineering or similar.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in sustainability/ESG reporting, financial reporting, audit or reporting in a corporate setting.
- Competence in reporting systems, project management and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of ESG Reporting frameworks in particular CSRD and EU Taxonomy desirable.
- Experience with ESG data management, analysis and verification and experience using sustainability reporting tools and software desirable but not essential.
- Experience interpreting and applying new regulatory reporting requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail essential.
- Personable disposition and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating cross functionally across the organisation and with wider external stakeholders.
